Well, what can I say about myself?

My name is Allie.

I'm a teen, and I'll lived all of my life in Chicago, IL. (The actual city, not a suburb.)

I'm looking forward to posting things on here, and hopefully to making some new friends.

In real life, I'm rather shy. I'm not very open, and I have to build up confidence before I can trust people. I want to say I was hurt a lot in the past, I want to blame others, but what's done is done. I want to get my life back in order, and I frequently do that through writing.

I don't like following the crowd, and at the same time I don't intentionally strive to be different. I can honestly say I try to be myself as much as possible, and naturally that puts me in an awkward spot in high school.

When I say I like or dislike something, I really mean it. Although I'm always open to new ideas, I hate people that preach or try to change my opinions. I'll respect your opinions if you respect mine.

Now for some random facts:

Relationships: I'm currently single, and I feel differently about it at different times. Sometimes I feel lonely and hate it- I do like someone now and I do want a boyfriend. Other times I like it- I realize that many people my age only want to be with someone to be with someone, as well as how immature many are, and I am glad I'm not attaching myself to someone just to show everyone else I can have a boyfriend. Usually, however, I just remain apathetic about it... Whatever happens happens, and it happens for a reason.

Religion: I'm 100% proud to be Agnostic. I went to a Catholic elementary/ junior high school as a kid, and I just can't buy into it. The bible was written by man, it was written to reach everyone- including nomadic herders, and it was written during poltical turmoil. (And no one can honestly say that religion has no effect on politics.) It's full of parables, and honestly I think its intent was to explain the mysteries of life and instill a moral code into society. (As all religions do.) That's fine, but I don't want to believe in it just to give myself a purpose in the universe or a reason and way to live. At the same time, I feel that atheists can't prove that a god doesn't exist, and as a result I identify with being Agnostic.

Ethnicity: I'm an American of Polish and German descent. I love my ethnic backgrounds, and I think all people should be proud of their heritage and race.

Politically: A very broad catagory. To be brief, I'd call myself a moderate with a general lean towards conservatism, although morally many of my views are more liberal. (Yet another topic for another day.)

Music: My music tastes are quite varied, ranging from punk to metal to hardcore/screamo to some electronica. My favorite band is probably AFI (I'm more of a Black Sails fan then a December one, however) followed by bands ranging from the Birthday Massacre to Motley Crue to Oi Polloi. I don't fully indentify with any music scene, however, and I enjoy going to many different types of concerts. (Even though I have to go to them in secret, haha.) So far I've seen: The Birthday Massacre with I:Scintilla, Secondhand Seronade with Rookie of the Year and Permanent ME, and the Black Dahlia Murder with Red Chord. (See the variation?) I also love going to signings- so far I've met +44, Jimmy Eat World, and one attempt at meeting Blaqk Audio.

Heroes: People I know- My busia (grandmother) that took care of me when I was small, my aunt that was my postive role model and shoulder to lean on when everything fell apart, my dad (even though we fight a lot, he tries to be there for me to the best of his ability), and my best friends Aneta and Shada that taught me what true friendship was like. Celebrities I don't know but still admire- Nikki Sixx, Davey Havok, Jade Puget. Historical figures- too many to list at the present time.
